Community Guidelines

Troupe helps you find someone to play with. Real people, real courts, real games. These guidelines exist so it stays that way.

By using Troupe, you agree to follow them. Break them, and we can suspend or remove your account.

Be real

• One profile per person. Your real name (first name is fine), your real face, your real age.
• No fake profiles, no bots, no impersonating anyone else.
• 18 and over only. Troupe is not for minors. If we find out you're under 18, we remove your account.
• Honest about your sport and skill. A "beginner" tag from an intermediate wastes everyone's time.

Be respectful

• No harassment, hate speech, threats, discrimination, or bullying. Not in messages, not in your profile, not anywhere.
• No sexual content or unwanted advances. Troupe is a sports app, not a dating app.
• No slurs or targeting based on race, gender, sexuality, religion, ability, or anything else that makes someone who they are.
• Assume good faith. Say hi, be normal.

Play safe

• You meet other people at your own risk. Troupe helps you connect. It doesn't check who anyone is. Use your judgement.
• Meet in a public place: a court, a park, a club. Not a home.
• Tell a friend where you're going.
• Trust your gut. If someone feels off, don't meet them. Block and report.
• Any injury, disagreement, or incident that happens off the app is between you and the other person. Troupe is not responsible for what happens in person.

Play fair

• Show up when you say you will. If you can't, cancel early.
• Bring what you said you'd bring (your gear, your side of the court fee).
• No no-shows. Repeat no-shows lose their account.
• Don't ghost mid-message.

Keep it clean

• No spam. No advertising. No links to other services (dating apps, gambling, MLM, "coaching businesses").
• No selling anything through Troupe. If you're a coach or a business, use a Business account (coming soon).
• No content that's illegal in Australia.
• No sharing another user's contact details, photos, or private messages outside the app.

When you report someone

• Use the report button on any profile or message.
• Tell us what happened. Screenshots help.
• We read every report. We don't reveal who reported who.
• Serious behaviour (threats, assault, illegal activity) gets an immediate ban and, where appropriate, reported to police.

What we do

• We moderate reports, profile photos flagged as fake, and messages flagged as abusive.
• We can suspend or ban accounts that break these rules. We don't owe an explanation.
• Banned accounts don't get refunded for Pro subscriptions.
• We update these guidelines as the community grows. Big changes get announced in-app.

Emergencies

If you're in immediate danger, call 000. If you've been harmed, contact police first, then let us know via the report flow so we can act on the account.
