Plain English again. By signing up for the Troupe waitlist or, later, using the Troupe app, you agree to what's below.
Troupe is a mobile app (launching September 2026) that helps you find local people to play sport with. Tennis, padel, hyrox, surf, running, cycling, volleyball and more. It's operated by Lucas Bru, a solo founder based in Manly, NSW, Australia.
You need to be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract in your country of residence. If you're under 18, wait a few years and then join.
When Troupe launches, you'll create a profile with your real name and a real photo. That's the core of the trust model — you can't be anonymous or use a fake photo.
Basic rules:
If you break these rules, we may suspend or delete your account without notice.
The core app is free. Some enhanced features are behind a Pro subscription ($9.99 AUD/month once launched). If you're one of the first 100 Troupers, you get Pro free for your first year. Cancel Pro anytime through your account settings; refunds handled via the App Store or Google Play.
We provide the platform. We're responsible for keeping it running, keeping your data safe, and being straight with you.
Troupe connects you with other people. We can't and don't vet them. Meetings you organise through Troupe are your own responsibility. Injuries during sport, disagreements between Troupers, no-shows, cancellations — those are between you and the other person.
We're not liable for anything you lose, damage, or suffer as a result of using Troupe, except where Australian Consumer Law makes us liable and can't be excluded.
You keep ownership of anything you post (profile photo, messages). By posting it, you give us a licence to display it within the app so other Troupers can see it. If you delete your account, we delete your content within 30 days.
If another Trouper behaves badly, use the in-app Report button (available at launch). We'll investigate and, where warranted, act. We may also block anyone we consider unsafe for the community, at our sole discretion.
You can delete your account anytime from within the app (feature at launch), or email lucas@troupeapp.com.au. We'll also delete your data (see Privacy Policy).
We can suspend or delete your account if you break these Terms, or if we shut Troupe down (we'd give at least 30 days notice).
If we update these Terms, we'll change the date at the top and, for material changes, email you. Continued use of Troupe after we notify you means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes will be handled by NSW courts.
This is a v1 Terms of Service written in plain English by a solo founder. Before app launch, it will be reviewed and formalised by a qualified Australian lawyer. If anything's unclear or feels wrong, email Lucas directly.
